The official currency in Turkey is a Turkish lira, but in the touristic areas, you don’t need to change € or $ to it. Most of the tourist locations accept both € and $. Although most places accept credit and debit card payments, always have some cash with you, just in case. Smaller shops or vendors, especially in the Grand Bazaar / Spice Bazaar areas, may not have these facilities.
